Their groundbreaking debut album has championed consciousness, empowerment, and African-inspired rhythms, redefining the look and sound of Hip-Hop culture. Their socially conscious music and vibrant style have earned them global acclaim, including two Grammy Awards for their album 3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life of…, as well as honors from MTV, Soul Train, the NAACP, and Rolling Stone, which named them Band of the Year in 1992.
